bring your vision to life: move from doubt to confidence
Hey you: entrepreneur, achiever, goal-getter, best friend, and giver of your gifts to the world. It's almost Summer and with that, our outer world is undergoing transitions as nature shifts from rooting and sprouting to a season of growth and brilliance. I'm going to say something *almost* too cliche but here it is: As without, so within.
You are not meant to stay in the same season 365 days of the year. Nature's power is in the regenerative and mutually beneficial cycles of the months and years. Spring growth is possible because of winter rest. Summer blooms are made possible by the intentional preparation of the seeds in spring. See where I'm going with this?
I see too many new and growing entrepreneurs working against this rhythm - either staying in preparation and idea mode forever only to give up on themselves - or - in a sprint trying to do everything at once with their brilliance spread too thin that nothing catches. It's exhausting trying to do everything at once. It's exhausting waiting and waiting for the perfect readiness to begin.
Creativity without action can manifest as anxiety, restlessness, and self-doubt.
Momentum without focus will burn through your fuel source faster than that fuel can be replaced.
I bet you have a new idea for every day of the week for how you *could* offer your gifts to the world.
And I'm willing to bet you're sitting on a pile of them that are unfinished - maybe even unstarted.
It's easy to see how having too much on the go can lead to burnout but it's equally true that having too much waiting for you to hit go can also lead to burnout. Ideas that are kept on the shelf cause mental clutter and since ideas really want to be out in the world their chatter is exhausting to constantly silence.
In other words - not giving your unique gifts and ideas to the world will deplete you. Of your energy and of your confidence. Because the longer we sit on the fence of action the more we communicate to ourselves that we are incapable of that action - incapable of bringing our visions to fruition.
If you've been or are in either of these states I have excellent news for you:
Creative and innovative ideas are subjects in the realm ruled by the element Air, represented in the energetic season of Spring, which is coming to an end. Discomfort is an early nudge that it's time to move on. So if you are feeling some discomfort at the amount of ideas for your work in the world that you have yet to see through - DON'T start doubting yourself. See it as a sign that your inner Spring of ideation is coming to a close and that you are being invited to put some plans and action in the right place for the Summer heat to go to work on.
Here's how you can walk yourself through what to do next:
How nourished are you? What do you need right now as a human outside of work to get back to health and fulfillment and joy? (Hint: You probably need more than you think you need.....you just grew up being taught to place value on not ever needing to rest or take time for what you wanted)
How aligned are you? What do you REALLY want to be doing in life and work compared to what you are doing now?
How clear are you? What is the ONE area of work that you can focus on that will give you the biggest shift forward to how you really want to work and live?
How busy are you? What will you let go of and simplify in order to amplify?
How ready are you? What do you need to make that shift? For example, do you need a new offer in your business that more closely represents your values and gifts? Do you need to improve your offer to add more value and income? Do you need support setting up business systems that leverage your time more efficiently?
If you're thinking there are more than a few shifts you need to make, here is the good news: when you start to step into rhythm with nature's cycles you ensure balance over the course of a year. Everything gets addressed in the right time for the maximum impact while keeping you in healthy and focused on what will make the most impact each season.
This logical and focused approach helps ground the swirling ideas and possibilities into practical, simple steps. It's a mini SWOT analysis with a holistic whole-life-health twist. (The Emma specialty)
And yes, it can be scary to move from idea to action. But if you want a different result you have to step into a different place.
If you want support going into more detail on the questions above - I'm preparing a Seasonal Business Planning workshop for us to do together that includes more information on the specific business activities that align with this Spring to Summer transition we are approaching as well as a framework you can follow EVERY seasonal shift to re-prioritize and re-set your focus and goals.
You'll walk away with a clear plan to set in motion this summer that prioritizes your joy and health (yes, you can have joy and health and success). Best of all it's going to be a plan that will help you let go of what spins your wheels and do more of what gets you traction. Business School meets Holistic Health.
